Jumping Saddle Smooth

Getting my horse gallop better?
I have a horse 10 years old quarter gelding that has not been mounted for some time due to a leg injury. I'm still waiting for him to be completely healthy before the ride, but before he limped when I the gallop (I have had since April 2009) it was really bouncy, and it took a long leg to actually get him in the gallop. Are there any thing I do when I get back in the saddle to its smooth gallop and go to the easiest. I did English and I do not use a crop less than I should. I also want to take him a few small shows to jump if the vet gives me the green light for a smooth canter would be much help with that:) Thanks in advance for helping her real gallop feels just terrible when im riding. I took a video of me riding and he looked really too bad, but when he is on the ground and is himself its gallop gallop looks amazing! I want the gallop to be like this when I drive 2:)
You just described my horse. 12yo gelding QHx absent from work for 2 full years. Back at work October 31, 2009. I 2 vertebral fractures and I sent to my instructor for a week to make sure I did not happen there is nothing really stupid. When I went running to fetch him, they said that his gallop was "rude" guts "and a QH" typical "(she is a dressage instructor, not really excited by QH in general, but that is his opinion). I installed and I must say that I had agreed everything I could think was "oh my, I do not want to ride this rough. I've had instructors say, a horse is born with his foot and gallop, trot, but you can improve. So I do not hold much hope for improvement. I would say most of my stock issues come to be unfit (we do not run a marathon without training, so many horses need their workload improved slowly). It was heavy and lazy in Canter and takes a lot of leg to keep him moving forward and keep it all balanced. I do not ride with a whip, so I understand where you come from there. To my absolute surprise her canter has improved considerably over the last 4 weeks. I have worked on fitness, a lot of walking and working trot. Many transitions stop, walk, trot, so I put some ground poles (only 4) in random places where I ride (I move them too). All this helps to keep the concentration, picking his feet and lighter. It will help you jump training as well. When you ask for the gallop I asked the pressure of the leg slightly (just a little compression), then I demand more leg then I give more pressure and just heal (no spurs) with my outside leg, then he will get a kick. I just had to put 3 times the amount pressure that I use every time is reducing. He is finding that when I asked him and he does not do it, then the pressure will be applied and it should do anyway. It is becoming more sensitive every week, but it takes a lot of head and leg to keep him in the gallop. Mainly because lazy is still building fitness. I'm only 5 minutes to gallop at the moment because I do not want to cause problems of strength and I am in no hurry. I found my colleagues is smoother when it does not precipitate and is relaxed. I use a half stops to check his speed and keep the concentration with me. When he is relaxed, it slows down to a beautiful rocking chair Canter and displays natural transport. It may also be a bugger to pick up the lead to correct times (when it suits) and will correct lower leg when he is lazy. While it seems elementary, but be sure it is on the right leg (I'm sure you do, but I see many who are not). Also horses have a preferred leg natural, so make sure you do a lot exercises to do, even on both sides. This will help keep it flexible and help the "rough" lead if it can be improved. My showjumper tuberculosis has not been very good on his right leg, and no amount of "help" fixed it. Good luck with him. Once that his leg is better, I'm sure you can get some improvement in him. Oh and my instructor could not believe it was the same horse, a week ago!
