Leather Show Chaps
I watch on NIHJA and I was wondering if you need field boots or if paddocks and leather chaps are OK?
I have to custom boots if I get all my legs are 21''tall and 14 1 / 4''autour im a size 8 1 / 2 also. i cannot find a brand other than company that performs a custom size like that. So if I'm allowed to show in my boots and chaps im going to. Thank you
I would definitely invest in a pair of boots. If you're serious about showing they are a must. You would probably be the only one showing in classes for adults ( Judging from your height and shoe size) without them. I drive as IHSA, and only those in power divisions trot wear half chaps. Although they may be acceptable in the rule book, remember that the judge noted the general appearance (especially with hunters) and that you may write OFF in the beginning without field boots. I check the size charts of top brands and see if any that fit (tall slims are probably your best bet). Even if the calf is too wide, it's better because you can wear thick socks in winter, no can say that it is too broad, and if you run / grow your calves, you have the space. Good luck!
