Saddle Western Style
How do I start an English horse?
I could test the western style for nine or ten years now, and I would try something new and improve my overall riding. I would first like riding English, but I have no idea where to start. I am ten years old, Quarter Horse mare, so she should be riding good English. Can anyone give me advice or a website with information on the choice of a bridle, bit and other equipment? I do not want to compete, just ride for fun. No help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! In passing, I know it would help, but I have no money for riding lessons at this time ... I need to be able to teach me, that's what I did when I started riding.

If your horse has a soft mouth, a bit is suggested. They are quite cheap from your local Tack Shop. If you are unsure what little the people in your tack shop should be helpful in choosing the right one. Again, it's dollars Australian. There are lots of books you can read about your library to give you some basics in the district of the English, they may even have to borrow some dvds.
