Show Halter Adult
First time in a halter class horse, what to wear?
I show a friend (a) horse halter West for the first time first times (horse too, so I did not expect to win, learn). I am an adult 50 yo. I have questions about the dress code relaxed. Will I be disqualified for wearing sneakers riding a short-sleeved shirt polo, jeans and a baseball cap baseball? I want to invest in clothes that show I do not know if I'll continue that. This is just a learning experience for me. This is a local entertainment.
If it's just a show room opened, casual is fine. Although there may be people wearing clothes show (show pants, coordinated boots / belt / hat, tunic show), more casual attire is acceptable at this level. However, some shows / associations have specific rules on various articles of clothing. For example, many others require that you wear a long shirt, button down, collared shirt to a minimum. If you're not ready to invest in a top show fancy, just a simple western shirt will be acceptable - But a polo can not be. Similarly, in May they require western style hats, as opposed to a baseball cap. I know that the association show in full-I attend as it is, the dress is usually half fantasy and half casual, but casual must at least meet certain standards (long sleeved shirts to the West, a hat). Another Association Show opened that I know is very casual and do not care if you show a t-shirt and shorts. Obviously, it depends on the issue. There should be a person in charge of the program that can tell you what are the minimum requirements are (and if you would be disqualified to show with short sleeves or cap) - Call them or ask someone who has been. Jeans should be acceptable.
