Soft Mesh Fly
How can you make yourself LESS ATTRACTIVE to "No See Ums"?? HELP!?
No See Ums are sometimes called Sand Flies or "Ceratopogonidae". I have to be in this part of Florida which unfortunately has huge "No See Um" problems year round!! I am very susceptible and usually end up with dozens of No See Um bites.
Avon Skin So Soft and Citronella are NOT and does NOT work. Currently, I'm tyrying to avoid spraying with high % DEET. I also spray my clothes with Permetherin - not very effective either.
I've heard that eating Vitamin B and Brewer's yeast may change the scent of your blood and make it less attractive to No See Ums?
PLEASE don't advise me to spray the area as it's surrounded by nature preserve parkland (and huge bodies of water) and I can't spray. I can't avoid outdoors during dawn and dusk & can't wear "No See Um" mesh
I just need to like alter the smell of my blood or something like that - basically, my QUESTION IS THIS: WHAT can I do to make myself VERY UNATTRACTIVE, even downright REPULSIVE to No See Ums?

I hear ya. I grew up in Florida and I'm a tasty morsel to those rotten bugs. The ONLY thing that works for me is "Bullfrog Mosquito Coast w/SPF 30." It's DEET free and I never have any bug bites or no see um issues at all. We play at the beach, in the sand, ride motorcycles in the woods, you name it. No bites. They especially love me, so I'd always end up with more bites than anyone else in the family. This new Bullfrog stuff saved me. Once indoors at night, I shower it off so my sheets don't get Bullfrog all over them, and then spray more on the next day. It's a super easy to use pump spray, and I love it. Best of luck to you. And good lord anyone that think you should spray your surroundings needs to make a trip to the Sunshine State...there's not enough spray in the world is there?!
The package is green with little lumps on it like a BullFrog, they sell it everywhere; Publix, CVS, Walgreens, Target, WalMart, etc.
